Window A World

In every window a world shimmers. From a busy street, you are invited to make an intimate connection. A new live piece between film, installation and theatre, WINDOW A WORLD asks what happens when we listen and look in.

To Be A Machine (Version 1.0)

ALL STORIES BEGIN IN OUR ENDINGS. WE INVENT THEM BECAUSE WE DIE

To Be a Machine, Mark O’Connell

An early iteration of a future project, To Be a Machine (Version 1.0) is an adaptation of the Wellcome prize-winning book by Mark O’Connell: an exploration of Transhumanism, a movement whose aim is to use technology to fundamentally change the human condition, to improve our bodies and minds to the point where we become something other, and better, than the animals we are.

Gaeilge Tamagotchi

A theatrical installation in which Manchán invites you to adopt an Irish word in order to breathe life into it.

In Gaeilge Tamagotchi Manchan invites you to adopt an Irish word. Participants wind through a labyrinth of 30m of raw Irish linen to receive an endangered Irish word from the artist, which they agree to nurture, nourish and take guardianship of. They each receive a word unique to them and are given the opportunity to print or paint their word on stone, oak-wood, or linen as a ritualistic covenant.

Go to Blazes

“O, Rocks!”  In a meaty delicacy that ignites the senses, David Bolger’s evocative response to Ulysses Episode 4 probes dual realities to create a highly original dance performance installation of unsettling, voluptuous beauty.  Each audience member is taken on an intimate, deeply personal, multi-sensorial journey designed to linger long after they have left the landmark building of 42 Fairview Strand.

What We Hold

Marking acclaimed choreographer Jean Butler’s return to working with traditional Irish dancers, ‘What We Hold’ is a site-specific work which unfolds as a series of encounters performed by an intergenerational cast of contemporary and traditional dancers that range in age from mid teens to late 60’s.

Lost Lear

All at once fast-paced and thought-provoking, Lost Lear lands us into the world of Joy, a woman with dementia, who is being cared for through a method where people live inside an old memory.

Following the national and international tour of A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings, Dan Colley and his company have turned their sights on a very (very) loose adaptation of King Lear, examining the self and that part of us that’s inaccessible to others.

The Rebirth of Pyra

Pyra is an award-winning London-based visionary singer-producer, genre-bending “Dystopian Pop” who is here to knock out inequality and challenge the world's most corrupted socio-cultural issues head on. In this live performance on extended reality she presents “her world”

Come Live With Me Angel

This was an installation style piece performed in Michaelmas 2 2022 in DUPlayers. It was performed in the dressing room in the Players building, the small space being used to represent a small apartment in Dublin. Audience members were immersed completely in the scene as they played characters/people attending an art class in the 'apartment'. The actors directly interacted with the audience members.

ZOONOSIS

Pets love a pandemic (mostly). Dogs never get to have their humans at home with them so much. Maybe the cats are secretly wishing everyone would go back to work. But our intersections with other animals and plants are not so simple. ZOONOSIS takes a sideways look at how the pandemic has impacted our fellow species on earth.
