Tommaso is a young man in an obvious state of confusion who is forced to perform tests. These tests are ordered by Socrates, a female voice that haunts him. Important secrets about Thomas and Socrates are revealed during the performance. There is a deep bond between the two: Socrates is for Thomas the ultimate vertex of his ‘triangle’.
The audience takes part in the performance both by talking to Tommaso (becoming involved in his despair - Socrates obsesses him: he is both haunted and attracted by it) and by participating in the trials themselves. Before the start of the performance, the spectators are given a ‘survival kit’ to help them through the tests. Those who make mistakes are punished by Socrates, who orders Thomas to relegate them to the ‘punishment room’ - a space at the side of the stage delimited by plexiglass where they are forced to draw seating on a child's chair.
